America's commercial wine industry began in Kentucky over 200 years ago when Jean-Jacques DuFour found climate and soil conditions to create French-comparable wines. Starting in Jessamine County, Kentucky grew to become the nation's third largest producer of grapes and wine by the late 1800's., Kentucky became the nation’s third largest producer of grape and wine. Through the Prohibition Era, wine production was converted to tobacco. By the 1970's, wine made a comeback in Kentucky, and created a central destination for agri-tourism. Today, SIXTY-FIVE vineyards exist in Kentucky producing over 100K cases of wine annually.

Atwood Hill Winery

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you can take a journey of taste at Atwood Hill Winery in Northern Kentucky, just south of Cincinnati, Ohio. Located on the Licking River, this 6th generation family farm dates back to 1918 where it began as a tobacco and cattle operation. Five armed forces veteran brothers grew up on The Farmstead and their descendants continue the agricultural traditions today from detailed vineyard management to the wine-making process. Grapes at Atwood are hand-picked and pressed on site, stored in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels before bottling and serving. Experience the evening sunset at farm in the purgala with a glass of fresh wine or take some home from their shop to share with friends and family.

Baker-Bird Winery

The historic Abraham Baker wine cellar at 4465 Augusta Chatham Road in Augusta, Kentucky was restored and re-named in the German tradition, Baker-Bird Winery in 2010. The name is based on Baker, who built the winery and Bird, who currently owns the winery. Visit the winery, which is on the United States National Historic Registry, the Civil War Heritage Trail, and the Freedom Trail, on Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting) or order their wines online.

Black Barn Winery

Black Barn Winery is a small family-owned winery located inside a renovated tobacco barn nestled in 40 acres of horse farm in Lexington, Kentucky less than 4 miles from the KY Horse Park. It was conceived by Collin Boyd and is home to fine national award winning dry red wine blends crafted in Kentucky. Collin concentrates on crafting one wine per year - a full bodied wine made with grapes brought fresh to the winery from California. Crushing & destemming take place immediately upon the grape's arrival then wines are created from three varietals after aging occurs separately. Bluegrass Vineyard

Bluegrass Vineyard is a veteran-owned farm in Smiths Grove, Kentucky (near Bowling Green), and utilizes locally-grown fruits mostly from their own vineyard to create small batch, hand-crafted wines. Wine can be ordered or picked-up on location, and tastings are open Saturdays only from March to October. Help pick grapes to receive freebies and tee shirts with your purple footprints by signing up online for "Harvest Days!" The vineyard offers  Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Villard Noir and Noiret reds and Traminette, Vidal Blanc, Chardonel and Vignoles whites.

Boucherie Winery

Western Kentucky's Henderson County Scenic Highway 60 will lead you home to Boucherie Winery in Spottsville, Ky where panoramic vineyard views and stunning sunsets can be seen from their front porch. Visit for a tour and tasting Wednesday to Sunday or book a special event to try Norton, Chambourcin, Summer Crisp, Traminette, Blackberry, Chardonel, Catawba, Plum, Summer Mingle, Noiret and Soft Red wines.

Brianza Gardens & Winery

Nestled in the hills of Northern Kentucky, visit the family-owned and operated Brianza Gardens where owner, Tony Parnigoni brings Italy to America. The tasting room is open daily, except Mondays, to discover scenic vineyard trails and a deep-rooted agricultural history. Join the Cru Club to receive discounted wines and special offers. Brianza Gardens also welcomes visitors to walk and picnic along their walking paths where over 75 unique flowering plants, trees and shrubs are featured. Brianza is also a beautiful wedding venue.

Broad Run Vineyards

Broad Run Vineyards in Louisville followed the journeys of old world family wineries, planting the noble vinifera vines of Europe and nurturing high-quality grapes to yield well-balanced, fine wines. Starting in 1983 with 20 varietals on 15 acres, Broad Run has grown into its 72-acre-farm and expanded into commercial production in 1992. In 2003, they began constructions of an 8,000-square-foot winery and tasting room that you can now visit Wednesday through Sunday or for special private events. 

Brooks Hill Winery

Brooks Hill Winery is located atop Brooks Hill approximately 5 miles south of Louisville Metro and is open daily for tastings and tour visitors. All wines are made onsite by Mike and Karen Hatzell, but the supervisor of all activities is their Labradoodle, Lili. Mike's love for wine began when he was serving the US armed forces in France. In August of 2006, they bought Brook Hill where visitors now enjoy wine while walking in the woods, sitting on the patio, hanging out at the pavilion or in front of the fireplace.

Bruner's Farm & Winery

Bruner's Farm & Winery is located at 650 Midway Road in Guston, Kentucky about 45 miles southwest of Louisville, and visitors are welcome for tours and tastings Thursday through Saturday. Bruners Barn is also a two-story venue with 2,000 square feet on the first floor and 1300 square feet in the loft.  The loft has a 12’ x 12’ deck on the outside of the barn and boasts 15’ ceilings on the inside. 

Camp Springs Vineyard

Starting in 2005, Camp Springs Vineyard began with 200 Vidal Blanc vines,and has grown since 2009 into the winery that exists today in Melbourne, Kentucky near the Fourmile Creek in Northern Kentucky. Open Friday through Sunday to the public, and for special events and appointments otherwise, the Camp Springs Vineyard experience includes wine and deliciously comforting foods. Offering red, white, rose and fruit wines, Camp Springs couples culinary delights with aromatic tastings.

Castle Hill Winery

Castle Hill Winery is a special place nestled on 100 acres just outside of historic Versailles open to the public daily. Their wine tasting room, The Camelot Room, adjoins the Majestic Banquet Room and contains a 28 foot long back and front bar with large mirrors. It has a beautiful floor-to-ceiling rock fireplace and features 3 sets of French doors that open up to their large outdoor patios so guests can enjoy both indoor and outdoor splendors. Castle Hill's winery, wine tasting room, banquet room, gift shop, porches and patios can accommodate weddings and special events. The large outdoor patios provide an enchanting view of the Castle, which is a perfect backdrop for photos and videos.

Cave Hill Vineyard

Cave Hill Vineyard is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the South Central Region of the Kentucky Wine Trail in Eubank, Pulaski County, Kentucky, about an hour South of Lexington and just North of Lake Cumberland and Somerset. The Cave Hill tasting room is open Monday through Saturday to taste Chambourcin, Traminette, Cynthiana Norton, Cayuga White and Chardonel.  Cave Hill also offers indoor and outdoor facilities for special events.

Cave Valley Winery

In June of 2011, Cave Valley Winery became the first spirit producer in the previously dry Barren County. It is located on the doorstep of Mammoth Cave National Park in the Caves, Lakes and Corvettes Region of South Central Kentucky near Bowling Green. The winery focuses its wine-making on popular grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Chardonnay and Merlot in addition to blackberry, peach and blueberry fruit wines. The Tasting Room is decorated in a warm and rustic country style featuring a specially crafted menu, pairing delicious cuisine with award winning wines of Kentucky.  Tasting is available Monday through Saturday at 585 Park Mammoth Road, Park City, Kentucky.

Cedar Creek Vineyards

Cedar Creek Vineyards is located off Hwy 80, East of Somerset, offering tastings 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Tuesday - Saturday amidst the picturesque rolling hills. Cedar Creek derives its name from the creek that flows out of a nearby limestone cave  and  is owned and operated by vintner Jeff Wiles, a life-long resident of Pulaski County. His mission is to "work in harmony with nature through composting, planting permanent cover crops, establishing native grasses and wildlife habitats, and giving loving and personal attention to each vine." Cedar Creek was established in 2002 and opened for business in 2007 with an initial offering of 4 labels. They now have 3.5 acres of grape vines with a mixture of French hybrids and native grapes. Several varieties of wine are offered to suit the palate — dry/sweet, red/white. Their wines are bottled in Autumn and vary by the annual productivity.

Chateaux Du Vieux Corbeau Winery

Danville, Kentucky is located Southeast of Louisville and Southwest of Lexington, and is known for fertile agricultural areas perfect for grape-growing. There you will find the beautiful colonial Chateaux Du Vieux Corbeau Winery and their delicious white, red, blended and berry wines. Whether you crave a semi-sweet, smooth Chardonnay or you want to try the holiday cranberry sweet wine, you are sure to find unique flavors at Chateaux Du Vieux Corbeau.

Chenault Vineyards

Chenault Vineyards is a love story written by, husband and wife, Becky and Ed Chenault. The Chenault Family has a combined wealth of professional experience in luxury properties and restaurants, and Chenault Vineyards represents the marrying of their complementary talents, in a place they love—the rolling green hills of Central Kentucky. Chenault Vineyards is located at 2284 Barnes Mill Road in Richmond, Kentucky just south of Lexington and north of Berea off I-75, and offers visitors tours and tastings Friday - Sunday weekly. Their white wine has a  blend of Vidal Blanc and Riesling and has a clean, crisp taste. Their red wine is a blend of Chambourcin and Merlot  aged in bourbon barrels.

Chuckleberry Farm & Winery

Located  on the outskirts of historic Bardstown, Kentucky, Chuckleberry Farm & Winery offers a "road less traveled for wine lovers". It is a small, family-owned farm where high school sweethearts, Chuck and Ladonna Hall, have grown together to build their fruit winery. Tastings are $5 and held year-round Friday through Sunday at 527 Garrison Lane, Bloomfield, KY with expanded summer hours. Chuckleberry wine can also be purchased in Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green & Danville Liquor Barn stores as well as local restaurants and bars in the state. Chrisman Mill Vineyard & Winery

Tucked away in the rolling hills of Hickman Creek Valley, Jessamine County, Kentucky, the Chrisman Mill Vineyard & Winery estate is settled just a few miles from America’s first commercial vineyard. Kentucky’s soil produces excellent wine grapes when varietals that thrive in the terrain are chosen for planting. Chrisman Mill focuses on Vidal Blanc, Chancellor and Norton grapes. Since their first vintage was produced in 1999, their menu has expanded to include 12 wines with ALL grapes coming from the Kentucky soil. Crocker Farm Winery

Crocker Farm is the first bonded winery to open in South Central Kentucky since prohibition, and consists of a two acre productive vineyard near Bowling Green in Franklin, Kentucky. Most of the grapes grown on the farm are sold to other commercial and home winemakers because their tanks can't hold the large production grown on-site. Since 2009, Crocker Farm has utilized old world wine-making methods to make delicious white and red varieties. Beef and lamb is also available for purchase from Crocker Farm. Echo Valley Vineyard

The Echo Valley Vineyard was established in 2005 by David & Sue Watson in Flemingsburg, Kentucky in northeastern Kentucky (a short drive from Lexington and Cincinnati) with 6000 grapevines and over 100 blackberry vines. Joined by their sons, Stephen and Bradley Watson, the winery was established in 2014. Enjoy wine made from grapes grown right on the property, enjoy the view of the vineyard from their back patio, or take in the sunset from the front patio. The wine tasting room is open Monday to Saturday for you to enjoy fruit wines and grape wines.

Eddy Grove Vineyard

Eddy Grove produces "Medicine Man" wines and offers Tuesday through Saturday tastings for guests, as well as Timberdoodle lunches and dinners. Their wine is the product of Kentucky soil, southern sunshine, skilled nurturing and committed dedication to utilizing estate grown grapes and local berries as the foundation for their award-winning creations. Medicine Man wines include Traminette, Sauv Blanc, Sweet Dreams, Chardonel, Chambourcin Rose and Zinfandel.

Elk Creek Vineyards

Open 7 days a week, year-round, and offering 20 wine varietals for tasting (as well as gourmet soups, salads and sandwiches), the Elk Creek Vineyards experience in the "golden triangle" is a delicious experience. Locals and visitors delight at the free wine tours and live music on Friday and Saturday weekly + you can plan a private event or dinner. Elk Creek's wine grows on 30 acres of vines and becomes perfected in steel tanks and oak barrels. As the producers of Kentucky's first Estate Merlot, Pinot Noir and Sangiovese, Elk Creek also grows Vidal Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Chardonelle, Norton, and Chambourcin on the Estate. Annually, Elk Creek creates about 250K bottles of wine that are discounted for wine club members or available for gift purchase online.

Equus Run Vineyards

Open for tastings and tours every day, the Equus Run Vineyard in the quaint town of Midway, Kentucky also offers events for cigar connoisseurs, art-lovers and murder mystery dinner diners. Nestled amidst picturesque stone fences and rolling fields, the vineyard began with a "passion for traditional wine in a non-traditional place". Owner and manager, Cynthia Bohn left the corporate world to start her Woodford County vineyard in 1998 with an inspired vision to work in the rich fertile soil of the Bluegrass State. Equus Run is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic, try your luck at fishing, enjoy the golf putting green, stroll through the promenade gardens or kayak the scenic South Elkhorn Creek.

First Vineyard Winery

Bottling over 200 years of history, the Nicholasville, Kentucky First Vineyard Winery found its way into the National Historic Register in 2015 as the site of John James Dufour's original Kentucky winery on land surveyed by Daniel Boone himself. Offering White, Red, Blush, and Fruit wines, tastings are held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to visitors. During your tour, explore the exciting historical documents that created the vineyard, like the survey of the property done by Boone in 1783, the business plan written by Dufour in 1798 and the Kentucky Revised Statute that created the Kentucky Vineyard Society and made Dufour the vinedresser for the First Vineyard in 1799.

Forest Edge Winery

Located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky at 1910 Clermont Road, the Forest Edge Winery offers daily tours and tastings, as well as cheese, wine and club memberships. With its lavender and khaki-colored walls, cozy seating arrangements, and fireplace, Forest Edge Winery is a perfect place to sip and savor wine.

Green Palace Meadery

Wine created from honey? Yes, that's right. The Green Palace Meadery in Glasgow (near Bowling Green) creates a meade (honey+water+yeast) base to create their wine.  Before creating their first bottle, owners Debbie and John Pace had to petition the Barren County government because it was previously a dry county.  Visit the Meadery Tuesday through Saturday at 244 Old Edmonton Loop 1 Rd, Glasgow, Kentucky to get your honey and honey wine.

Grimes Mill Winery

Grimes Mill Winery is a family run business where hand-crafted wine is born from grapes grown and cultivated mostly on their family farm. Visit Grimes Mill Winery between Lexington and Richmond, Kentucky to taste Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Mouvedro, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Pinotage, Petite Manseng, and Moscato. Hamon Haven Winery

Nestled in the heart of the Bluegrass is the  charming Hamon Haven Winery, a family-owned winery producing 8hand-crafted, award-wining wines. Built on over three decades of passion for perfecting wine with vibrant fruit scents and rich flavor, the Hamon Haven Winery opened in the Spring of 2014 - providing tastings and private tours of the winery and vineyard.
